Alces alces americana - Moose, also known as Elk in Europe, are most commonly found in Canada, Alaska, New England, and Russia. Unlike most other deer species, Moose do not form herds and are solitary animals. Males use dominant displays of antlers to discourage competition and will use them to spar or fight rivals. Females will select mates based on antler size.
