NC MM Apres Ski

Welcome to a happy place, "Aprés Ski."  This is my newest painting that celebrates the joy of mountain time and a day spent skiing.  Afterward, a warm cabin awaits and fresh mugs of hot coffee and cinnamon rolls.    My favorite parts:  The northern lights, bear family, skis and Dala horses on the mugs, crosscut saw and snow everywhere.  I love this cozy cabin.  The inspiration is my favorite Nordic center, Crosscut Mountain Sports Center, in Bozeman, Montana. 

I'm enamored with Sweden's fika, a Swedish concept meaning to "have a coffee", often accompanied with pastries and sweet treats with friends, and the Danish and Norwegian concept of hygge that includes the same along with cozy sweaters, blankets and firelight, after outdoor pursuits.  The original is a soft pastel on sanded board.
